!!! Marder Interview - English version !!!

If we are speaking from the Finnish music scene, the outcome of the discussion is the following: the Finns have high quality bands; not too many in number, but the existing ones are very melodic and set very high standards. I think everybody knows the RAC legends Mistreat or Sniper from the North. But until now, hardcore and metal influenced bands were not too common there.  We were very happy when the first Marder CD came out some years ago at PC Records because they brought a unique sound to the whole scene worldwide. After the releasing  of their 2nd CD we decided to make an interview with the guys, so You can read it now:

1., Please introduce the band! Who are the members? What are they doing in their private life?

Hello! We are Marder from Finland. Our band members are Hoikka on lead guitar, Jaakko on drums, Janne on rhytm guitar, Leksi on vocals and Peku in Bass. All of us are working class men and during our free time we play music (obviously), do power lifting, train martial arts consume significant amount of alcohol and so on. You know, the usual stuff.

2., How would You describe the music of Marder?

It's kind of hard to describe our music because it's a mix of many genres, but you can easily find thrash metal, punk and hardcore influences from our music. There might be something else evolving with the newer stuff especially, but we are not pushing our sound intentionally anywhere. Some people say that we are too black metal or that we play too hard & loud but that's our thing, depending on the drunkness level of course!

3., I know that some of the band members had (have ?) other hardcore related musical projects in the past. Are they still around? Could You tell about those projects more?

Regarding to this, it think you might be referring to White Guard and/or Rusty Nailbomb. Both bands are still around and both of them are planning to release more material in the future. Rusty Nailbomb is the band of our bass player Peku and there has been a lot of changes in the line-up and sadly it has been a bit inactive in the recent years, but hopefully it will change! White Guard is a band of the singer Leksi and Alexander from a band called Horss. The debut CD came out few years ago, and the next album is almost done. The biggest reason for it not being out yet is the lack of spare time as there is so much stuff going on all the time, but with both of these projects the reason is not that we would be too lazy.

4., In Finnland it was not really common that rightwing bands are playing such agressive music. How did You come to the idea to play that kind of music?

In late 90s there was band called Hate crime which you can call hatecore band but after that the music has been mostly R.A.C (except Rusty Nailbomb) but there has been and still is many NS black metal bands. But when we started, we didn't really have a bigger vision of what we would do. It all came together naturally and as our musical talents got better, we just played faster stuff because why the fuck not? Now the fast and heavy music that we do is our identity and it's unlikely that we would back away from that, but you never know what the future brings.

5., Were there other hatecore bands in the country?  What was the first one? Are there now other bands which play hatecore?

The closest thing to a Hatecore band besides us and Rusty Nailbomb is Civic duty, they released their debut in 2018 from Sakaramiina records and you can listem them in Bitchute! But the first EP from Mistreat was way more punk than what their current material is, so the reader can be the judge who was the pioneer in this genre.

6., Please tell us a bit about Your lyrics! What are they about?

The lyrical themes are mostly about negative things such as Globalisation, Capitalism, Mass immigration, Feminism, Consumerism, Communism and everything that is somehow binded with them. Of course we sing also about Nationalism, our bloodlines and other stuff that is close to our hearts. Sadly because of legal reasons, we csn't express ourselves in a manner that would be more keen to us but it doesn't matter because our message is strong and people who sre listening to it surely understands it. There is a little difficulty factor in the latest CD because most of the song were too naughty overall to be printed in the booklet.

7., We know that massmmigration in Scandinavia (especially in Sweden) causes a lot of problems. What about the Finnish situation?

Yes, the waves of non-white immigration have hit all of the western Europe the worst but no-one is safe from the effects. In Sweden atleast  10% of the population is non-white so the situation is starting to be the same as in France or Germany, it's unlikely that it gets any better before the great collapse. In Finland the situation is not so bad yet and there is some seemingly political effort in the parliament to make thing better but it surely we will have the same fate, sooner or later.

8., I saw that You mostly play with with RAC bands. Do You declare Yourselves skinheads too?

Yeah, we mostly play with R.A.C because we share the same ideology and subculture, but things evolve all the time in the music scene and in the ideological front. We don't really care who we play with, as long as the people are good people and share our values. Besides R.A.C we usually play with Black Metal bands also in Finland and we have also had few trips to Central Europe. Being strict with those kinds of this is not our business as our goals is to spread our message and also have a bit of fun on the side. You will see. ?? And there are Skinheads in the band but all of us don't share the same subculture.

9., I just saw that Finnlands new prime minister is now a young woman who came from a family where the "parents" were lesbians. This new PM supports mass immigration and a lot of other destructive leftist topics. What is the opinion of average Finnish people on this new PM?

There is somewhat small but loud minority that praises these kind of politics, and of course they get the most media coverage as they are the most political correct opinions at this moment in history. Of course this kind of image is really shameful to all Finnish people but you also have to remember that they are just the puppets of the people who are really in charge and who do the ultimate political desicions. Most of the common people don't understand this and get their talking points & political opinions reflecting from the scandals that are written or shown in the media day after day that also takes their individual thinking effectively away. It's a good thing that a lot of our people are ignorant to this, but still at the same time they are devoted voters of the parties that they think drives their agenda. If you look at our History, Finnish people endure huge amounts of bullshit and injustice before they truly react, after that it's hopefully revolt against the state or maybe even a civil war. Who knows.

10., How big is the Finnish NS movement? Do average people support Your ideas?

Compared to other countries the Finnish NS movement is not that big, partly because of the previous awnser on the question. We are not political activists, but we encourage people to go that direction if they feel like it's something that would suit them. Do anything really, most people have lots of unused potential and it would be a shame if it would go to waste! The common people might support 88% of the message, but as the brainwashing has gone to the point where it is now, the people are really alienated on the JQ and the whole concept of race. But as the two faced media drives us aggressively to the glorious multicultural state, people might start asking why, who benefits from it and what is our role in all of this.

11., Because historical reasons there were tensions between the Russians and Finns. As far as I know the Finnish movement had some antipathy towards the Russians in the past, there were even some RAC songs against Russians in the 90's. What is Your opinion on this topic? Did this attitude change?

Yes, there has been hate towards Russians because of what has happened during the Communist regime. But it seems that it fading away as time has passed, maybe partly because people have educated themselves what was the driving force in Communist ideology and also in their leaders. There has been covers of war time songs against the Communists and also pure agitation against the Russians but that is not the case anymore. There have been Russians attending political events and it's not unusual that there are Russian at our gigs also. This is a good direction and hopefully it stays at this course.

12., Are there any plans to records new songs nowadays? Or do You want to concentrate on playing live gigs now?

We are working on a new material actively, we even took a few months break of playing because we want to consentrate on the new stuff. Usually we play 10-20 gigs a year so that + other bands and our other free time activities, we really don't have too much time to focus 100% on the new stuff as we normally just rehearse for the coming gigs.

13., Do You support football holliganism? Does the hooligan movement exist in Finnland?

We have little going on in the hooligan scene but nothing like in other european countries. Some of us have been supporters of and Helsinki-based football team IFK before as it was traditional workingclass football team.
Nowadays they are buying foreigner players and kicking out iconic finnish players and it's owned by some Chinese capitalist.
We have heard that there is still something going on in youngster hooligan groups.

14., ...and a very usual question: do You know the Hungarian movement? Any bands, maybe? ??

We know Legion Hungaria and of course Blood & Honour, Hammerskins and Skins for Skins! With the bands we need google to help with the correct names, but the bands we know are Vérszerződés, Vendetta, Arrow Cross, Archivum, Jogos Önvédelem,Titkolt Ellenállás (R.I.P) and Fehér Törvény... Sure there are many that come to mind at this moment. Your musical scene is really active and energic and we really hope you keep it that way!

15., Thank You for the interview, Guys! If You have any comments, last words,  etc., it is Your turn now!

Thank you very much for the interview! We will see each other in Budapest 4th of april, so get the Palinka ready! Kitartás!
