Patriot Interview - ENG

"And now for something completely different!" - It was the slogan of the famous Monty Python's Flying Circus show back in the 70's in the UK and this time we'll follow this attitude. Until now we presented mostly "traditional" sounding hc bands from the movement, but some weeks ago we received a mail from the UK band Patriot if we are interested in an interview with them. As they are representing a total different approach of punk hardcore music than the rest of the bands on our site we were happy to get the possibility to show something "new" to our readers. Read our discussion with Kane about music, 80's UK hardcore and a lot of other things here:

01., Greetings and thank you for answering our questions. Please introduce yourself and your band, Patriot to our readers.

Szia, Kane vagyok. I am the musician behind the 1 man punk band Patriot from Zala.

02., You introduced the band as a punk hardcore band.  As far as I know the UK scene was always dominated by RAC and Oi! bands, why did You choose this direction? Is HC popular amongst within the ranks of rightwing people?

I have been into music from a very young age, I believe that 'feeling' is very important in music, it is what makes the difference between real music and plastic processed pop music, l didnt really choose the genre, it just came out that way, the feeling, the words, the delivery, the guitar tone all came together as one body of work and came together in this fashion, i have always been a fan of hardcore and uk82  the genre has always influenced me so i suppose it was what came naturally.

HC does have a healthy rightwing following it would appear, but it always has to be in secret in the UK. If anyone says they are not left wing they get hounded, harassed, censored and shut down, i know people who have even lost their jobs because lefties have worked hard to find out everything they can and gone all out to destroy them in every way. this is probably why the music is aggressive, in retaliation to this. it is extremely bad. that bands that aren't even right wing... they just aren't left wing!!  get attacked badly, usually online. music is about freedom of speech, freedom of creativity and expressing your feelings.

03., I checked Your music before the interview on Bitchute, it was an RAC influenced punk with some HC touches, it resembled me a lot on the roots of the hardcore movement. Is this statement correct? How would you describe the style of your music?

I think this is a very fair assessment to be honest, alot of people have said it has an old school root sound, i am happy that people think this, and i believe it has this sound too.

04., Are there other patriotic/WP/NS or nationalist HC bands in the UK currently? Were there ever any?

oh yes, they are there, you just need to find them at the gigs and events.

05., What made you to start a one-man band?

I have experimented with 1 man bands for some time, once I got the formula right and I knew it could do it properly I went all out with the 1 man set up.

i have played in bands for over 20 years, its not good when someone doesnt work properly in the band, or pulls in a different musical direction, i like to work hard with my bands so i like the freedom to say yes to every gig, say yes to every interview, say yes to every release offer, split or compilation. this can be very difficult when you are relying on other people, if they are lazy, or live really far away, or have jobs that dont fit in with being in a band.

The 1 man set means i can go anywhere and do a massive gig or a tiny gig and its always an easy set up, there is practically zero stress. It is also an unusual thing, so it's cool for people to watch, it's different. but mainly.... It makes things fun and very easy for me.

06., What albums have you released so far? Can you share some information with us about them?

in total i have written and released over 20 albums, but Patriot is new, so the debut album, out on old school records is called Invasion, it is selling really well, people like it and i hope to do the 2nd album next year. The album has 14 songs, 13 original and 1 cover. See you in Valhalla by No Remorse. A good friend did the album artwork which i think looks really great :D

07., Can you tell us about Magyar EP a bit more?

the Magyar EP was a really great thing to do! It was to celebrate my relocation to Hungary and it has songs with Magyar lyrics, i am learning the language of course and doing this really helped me to learn more. It is a free digital download you can get from Nordic Sun Records website in Budapest.

08., What are your plans in the future? Are you working on your next album?

I am always working on new things :D I have about 5 or 6 new songs recorded and ready, I will write more as it come to me and send it to the label when i feel its done. in the meantime i will continue with the online gigs. hopefully we can get some gigs going soon when the lockdown restrictions go away.

09., Have you got another project alongside Patriot?

Yes I have another project but a different genre, I am always open to help people by playing bass for them if they need me live or for recording, i did some stand in for 'Whitelaw' and 'Warlord' before i left the UK, before the first lockdown there.

10., What music do you like? What bands do you listen to in the NS and the mainstream scene?

oh this is a big question lol!! there are so many and its so varied. i love Motorhead, Madball, Burzum, Tsjuder, Dark Throne, Brutal Begude, The Exploited, lots of others, friends bands and bands i have played gigs with, but all mainly punk based the nervous breakdown EP by Black Flag was the one that got me into the punk side of music, minor threat, slayer and sepultura that got me into the metal side.

other bands i really like on the scene are mistreat, i have all their stuff, really nice people, i like a lot of Skrewdriver songs, i liek the heavier punky stuff, but i think the lyrics in the ballads are some of the best ever written anywhere.

i love angry aryans, but you asked about influences and what got me into music, but all these great bands came later unfortunaley lol

11., What inspires you when you write a new song?

Usually when i am training i am processing things in my head, that's where the lyrics come in. riffs come to me when i'm about to go to sleep so i need to sing the idea into my phone or i will forget it if i go to sleep!! lol!! lots of things inspire me but usually things that piss me off or nature.

12., You moved to Hungary recently. Where did you move from and why to Hungary? What do you think about the country and the Hungarians?

i think Hungary is amazing and the people are great, i first came here on tour with Marduk in 2008, then the last time I was here on tour with Venom inc and Obituary. I moved from the midlands of England, but i am originally from Glasgow.

I was sick of the UK, it is over priced, over populated and you can't buy any land, you can't get out into the country without some idiot selling a field off to build more flats to house more immigrants, the country is an absolute mess. i could rant all day on this, but i won't. i looked all over eastern and central europe to see where i was going to go, the list got smaller and smaller till Hungary was at the top of the list, so i bought a house, packed up and moved, the air is cleaner, the roads are quieter, there is less people, less stress, the politics of the country are much better ( i am sure Hungarian people who live here will have their opinion on this, but i am talking about in comparison to the UK )  i love the food, the quality of the produce here is better too, i think because it isn't mass produced on the same scale.

13., What is your favourite Hungarian dish?

ALL OF THEM!! I had some krumpliprosza last night, that was awesome, and my neighbour brought me some cabbage, rice and sausages i cant remember what it was called but it was superb!! the goulash is awesome.

14., Whiskey or pálinka? Or straight-edge?

im not that big a drinker, but i have tried the local palinka made by my friends and neightbours, 1 shot is enough lol its very strong but i think its great that it is made locally and from homegrown fruit. i'm not a fan of whisky really. i only have the odd beer now and then. the local beer is very good quality, i am much more into food!!!

15., Do you think you can settle down in Hungary for good or is it hard to tell yet?

i am already settled!!! I am going now where!!

16., What was the life like in UK? How is the nationalist/NS movement there?

my experience was that it was terrible, it was very small, people were having arguments between each other and not focused on developing the scene and bringing in new blood which made it very weak and and easy target for these idiot liberals sitting behind a computer.it was very sad. There was a lot of people not involved in the scene that had nationalist opinions, they are the silent majority, perhaps.

17., I think there are no men in the UK who does not support any football club. Which one is Your favourite?

i am sorry, i am not into football at all, i saw a lot of crap in glasgow between fans of Rangers and Celtic, it split the city, I got into boxing  and Thai Boxing when i was young so we werent football fans.

18., Do You support football hooliganism?

no. if people want to fight, i feel 1 to 1 is the way and in an environment that doesnt affect people who dont want to be part of it, there is team mma events too if people want to fight in a group. like i say, i saw a lot of bad shit in glasgow around this. if you want a fight, call a guy out and both train for it.

19., Do You do any sports? Is this important for any member of our movement to do sports?

yes, i am a boxer and thai boxer, i have a 4th degree in thai boxing, 3rd degree in kick boxing, purple belt in bjj, 1st dan in judo, 1st dan in karate, i retired from professional boxing 3 years ago when i was told i was too old for a licence anymore, so i took 8 unlicenced boxing matches and won them all, so age wasnt really an issue, i won the WKO English heavyweight kickboxing title in 2019 and i like to compete in powerlifting sometimes too, i like running to music and train a lot most day, i think sport is very important, i think it was lacking in the NS scene in the UK too.

I also think that training is extremely important to us, it is of the greatest importance to stay strong, and prepared, keeping your blood clean and your mind sharp, it is important to boost our testosterone levels to keep us in the best condition and to develop our genetics and keep the genetics and blood as high quality as possible. polution and processed diet is lowering test levels in men, massively since the 2nd world war,  white men cannot become soft, fat passive and weak,  the blood flows from ancestors centuries old and its not ours to mess with, it us our duty to keep it strong and our duty to the future generations, i also feel that you must test yourself constantly as a white man, you must always aim over and above, my way has always been in January every year, i ask myself. am i more intelligent than i was last year ? have i achieved more year on year ? and can i beat myself in a fight if i was able to put myself in a ring with myself?  the answer always has been and always has to be yes!  i will not accept age as an excuse, you can develop superior strategies to outwit and use your strength in different was. my motto for many years has been - the goal is the path, the path is the goal, in the pursuit of greatness, to attain the unattainable, ubermensch

20., Thank you for your time to answer our questions. If there’s anything you would like to add, this is your chance.

An understanding of the earth and nature is also extremely important, we cannot become weak by depending on central heating and microwave meals, Hungarians i have met grow their own food and understand how to live inline with nature, this makes them superior, it stops them being dependant and weak  on powers that do not have white peoples best intrests at heart. having this indepenence keeps you beyond the reaches of the claws of those who want to detroy us.  history is another foundation we must embrace, i understand and use runes alot which are being made illegal in places in Europe which i find extremely disturbing. Destroying our history is dispicable.

thank you very much for giving me your time, i really appreciate you giving my band space in your blog. i hope people will check out the music, and perhaps download the free EP and then buy the album if they like it.  i hope to see you all at a gig once this stupid virus lockdown goes away. if not i will do another live stream gig, a 1 man set up allows this to happen.
